I sense it could shatter,
In a million shards,
It sometimes feels,
Like a house of cards,
And in those moments,
I hold my breath.

You are suddenly impressing the hell out of me lately. I’d love to have this poem handwritten on a wall somewhere in my home.
Thanks very much, that’s a heck of a compliment! It’s funny you should say you’d like it written on a wall somewhere at home. We were chatting about poetry at work the other day and one of my co-workers told me she has one of my pieces on her wall at home. I was completely unaware of that and very flattered. (She has the Tickle Your Demons piece, which I actually wrote a couple of years ago)
What a coincidence, as I’ve never said such to a fellow poet. This must mean something. Keep pouring your heart out. 😉
