I came to you, not broken
But in pieces. Dismantled.
A big jigsaw puzzle
Of disassembled parts.
With “Contents Fragile”
Written on the box.
And though my heart
Was cracked a little
I wrapped it up well
Right before I left.
And it arrived intact.
It’s a good thing, too
Because the rest of me
Fell apart, and arrived
A messed up tangle.
But my heart was okay.
Slightly damaged, yes
But good enough
To give to you.
That’s really beautiful.
ahhh, feeling it. Good writing from your heart
Filled with emotion. Something we can all relate to. Well done.
Wow, thank you so much! Like I’ve mentioned before, I have one or two good poems in me a month, and lots of mediocre poems. This is a good one.
Love it! So true… You really do excel at capturing the emotion of relationship. Bravo!
This is good, instant splash of yourself in many piece, clever metaphor.
🙂
cute and nice.
Oh, that is so beautiful! It makes me think there is hope that my heart is “good enough” for someone out there. . .somewhere out there. . .ah!
Thank you so much! I actually wrote this one a while ago. I dusted it off for this week’s picnic because of the self-reflective free verse theme. Glad you liked it!
I think we all come in disassembled pieces. We give what we have with love or disdain and accept back what we deserve.
We do indeed. Thank you for stopping by.

*sigh* Gorgeous.
