I’m a kitten. Don’t know better.
Wanted to escape the weather.
Now I’m alone and stuck up here.
A tiny little ball of fear.
For my life has just begun.
Should be full of joy and fun.
But instead it’s full of strife.
As I hold on for dear life.
Not knowing what’s to come.
Or what happened to my mom.
Holding on and holding tight,
As I scream with all my might.
A tiny noise. May not go far,
Over the engine of the car.
Can you hear me? Cease to drive!
And I might make it out alive.
Oh please! Please come and get me.
Give me lots of love and pet me.
I swear I’ll be a loving friend.
And I’m never doing this again!
Inspired by this news article: Kitten straddles gas tank in 70-km ride of terror
Damn that’s effective! Makes me fear right along with the little tyke!
Thanks! I was trying to get inside the tiny little head of the obviously terrified kitten. I also felt that, due to my screen name, it was sort of my duty to give the pitiful little thing a voice.
That was really good!
And thanks for your fun limerick in this week’s Limerick-Off. I hope you’ll be a regular participant!
Thank you! I’d be glad to be a regular Limerick-Off participant. 🙂
I have to wonder if this is a parable of sorts, or simply a cute story about a kitten up a tree. Hmmm….
Here’s my entry: (not a cute one) http://charleslmashburn.wordpress.com/2011/09/04/blood-on-the-moon-2/
It’s actually inspired by a recent news story about a kitten who held on to the gas tank of a car for about 35 miles before the driver could stop and get it out. They had to partially dismantle the car to do it, but the kitty is just fine.
nice one kitten! my entry.. http://fiveloaf.wordpress.com/2011/08/30/a-roar-to-mankind/
