It’s said that public speaking,
Is by far the most feared thing.
Most would rather die,
Than to give a speech a try.
So maybe this is after all,
Why we invented alcohol.

Good poem, and it reminded me of one of Seinfeld’s jokes. He gave the same fact, that people fear giving a speech more than dying. So, at a funeral, most would rather be in the coffin than giving the eulogy. 🙂

Why I don’t do performance poetry. By the time I drink enough to get the courage I can’t talk.
