I’m soft and out of shape and old,
I often forget that, truth be told,
I may not look it, but I am,
Quite old enough to be called ma’am.
I’m overweight and easily bruise,
Though I still get carded buying booze.

Haha, it’s the little things that keep us going eh?
Indeed. Here I am pushing 36 and yet I still get carded when I go to Systembolaget. It doesn’t happen every time, but it did this afternoon. I’ve even been carded for cigs and for some reason both times it was down when I was visiting Mark in Malmö. Maybe they’re just more vigilant about it down in Skåne. *shrugs*
Indeed, I used to find it flattering, but now I think it’s just silly that they think I could possibly pass for 18. Give me a break.
It’s sexist nonsense! I have never been carded since I was 15. Stupid hairy chest.
!!! Those fascists card you, how dare they !!!
Do they card you because it is a legal requirement no matter what your age?
No, I think it’s just because they think I look young enough to pass for someone too young to buy alcohol. Or they simply enjoy harassing people.
Well you do long young Miss Kitten, so even though it is annoying it is a compliment.
*look
Why, thank you. It’s always funny seeing the look on the cashier’s face when they see how old I really am. They do a slight double-take and then hand the card back to me, saying, “Sorry, ma’am.”
